Missions

We prayerfully and financially partner with local and international missions to help advance the kingdom of God.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

Matthew 28:19-20 ESV

"Jesus answered, '...And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:29-31 ESV

RUF at University of Pittsburgh  (Gavin Breeden)

RUF PITT is a place for students to explore Christianity and grow in their understanding of who Jesus is.

We seek to know God's love in order to rest in it and be transformed by it. RUF strives to be a safe community for all kinds of people to come and learn about God and His love. Whether you consider yourself a Christian, a cynic, burned out, or confused, RUF is a place for anyone to hear the good news of Jesus, ask questions, grow in understanding, and enjoy community.

RUF, the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America, has over 150 campuses across the nation, and was established at PITT in 2008. Derek Bates serves as the campus minister.

RUF at Indiana University of PA  (DAvid Augustine)

Regardless of your beliefs or background, RUF is a community on campus where you can explore Christianity and learn about the hope of the Gospel found in knowing Jesus Christ. At RUF, Christians will grow in their faith and those who are skeptical or curious are always invited to bring their questions and see what it looks like to know and follow Jesus alongside others at IUP. Simply put, our goal is reaching students for Christ and equipping students to serve. We do not try to trim out the uncomfortable parts of the Gospel to make Christ more appealing.

Dal & Beth Stanton (MTW)

Dal & Beth Stanton have been supported by Covenant Community for nearly two decades. They were most recently serving in Bulgaria through Mission to the World. While there, they helped equip local church planters and helped start Daughters of Bulgaria, a ministry that helped women and girls trapped in sex trafficking.  The Stantons have now transitioned out of Bulgaria and were serving in Ukraine, and continue to minister to the Ukrainian refugees through MTW.

Christian Immigration Advocacy Center (CIAC)

The mission of the Christian Immigration Advocacy Center (CIAC) is to provide low-cost and pro-bono immigration-related legal services to immigrants and refugees in the Pittsburgh region. Our faith prompts us to show our neighbors the love of Christ in every endeavor we undertake in life, so CIAC fulfills this mandate by serving our immigrant and refugee neighbors through the practice of immigration law. Our legal services range from obtaining/renewing a Green Card, filing for U.S. Citizenship, Family Reunification, Visas, Asylum, and pro bono representation in the immigration courts. We are a Department of Justice Recognized organization, and as such, primarily serve clients of limited means.

Info on rising tide from MTW Japan

Rising Tide is a video documentary series which seeks to show the work of God in birthing an indigenous church planting movement in Japan as evidenced by Oyumino Christ Church in Chiba, and Grace City Church in Tokyo, Japan. Both of these church planting efforts involved Mission to the World, our denomination’s mission agency. We recently showed five of the nine videos (the rest are still being completed) in our adult Sunday School. The video links and study guides are below.
